Trade agreement with Chile

Signed on 18 November 2002, the EU-Chile Association Agreement entered into force on 1 March 2005. The agreement covers the most important aspects of relations between the EU and Chile: political dialogue, cooperation, and trade.

The frequency of physical checks on imports of products of animal origin is established in Part B of Annex VIII to the agreement. The agreement does not lower the frequency of checks, which remains the same as for imports from other countries outside the EU.
